Our Breeding Philosophy At vom Nobellehaus,
Our beliefs and principles are firmly rooted in our commitment to excellence and our dedication to preserving and enhancing the Der Kurzhaar,(DK).

1.Knowledge and Experience:
The foundation of producing exceptional puppies lies in the breeder’s expertise. Decades of experience allow us to focus on balance, mental stability, a keen nose, natural ability, trainability, inteligence,  love of water, conformation, and, equally importantly, the health of every puppy we produce.
2.Consistency Across the Litter:
We believe a litter should be uniform in quality, where every pup shares the same potential for excellence. This ensures each puppy has the capacity to meet the high standards of the breed.
3.Prioritizing Traits Over Coloration:
While coloration is a consideration, it is never our primary focus. Our priority is to produce well-rounded dogs that embody the core attributes of the breed, regardless of their coat pattern.
4.Purpose-Driven Breeding:
Every breeding is intentional, guided by a clear vision and purpose. We carefully evaluate pairings to match specific traits and characteristics, ensuring the offspring will excel in their intended roles. Random selection has no place in our program; we breed with purpose, precision, and a commitment to improvement.
5.The Role of Environment:
A puppy’s greatness is shaped by the environment in which it is raised. We carefully place our pups in homes that will nurture their potential, understanding that a supportive and enriching environment is as critical as genetics in determining their success.
6.Collaboration with DK Enthusiasts:
Working with fellow DK enthusiasts and joining the NADKC (North American Deutsch Kurzhaar Club) is invaluable for gaining knowledge and guidance. The NADKC is an excellent resource for helping you develop your pup to reach its full potential, whether as a hunting companion, a competitor, or both.
7.Commitment to Testing:
We encourage all owners to test their dogs within the DK system. Testing not only helps you achieve your goals with your hunting dog but also provides us with vital information for evaluating future generations of this exceptional breed. Participation strengthens the breed’s legacy and ensures its continued excellence.
8 Ongoing Support:
We are always available to assist you in achieving your goals with your puppy. The purchase of one of our pups is not the end of the journey—it            is just the beginning. We are committed to providing guidance, support, and resources throughout your pup’s life to ensure a successful and rewarding partnership.

Through this philosophy, we strive to produce DK's that exemplify the best of the breed — dogs with not only remarkable physical and mental attributes but also a profound bond with their families.

For the past 20 years, I’ve had the pleasure of hunting at Grants, located in beautiful Rangeley, Maine. What keeps me coming back year after year isn’t just the world-class grouse and woodcock hunting, but the exceptional experience provided by the friendly and welcoming staff. From the moment you arrive, you're treated not as a client, but as part of the family. The guides at Grants have a true passion for upland bird hunting and a deep respect for the game and their dogs. Their expertise and dedication to the sport are unmatched, making every hunt memorable and rewarding. Whether you're an experienced hunter or new to the field, their knowledge and enthusiasm elevate the experience.
At Grants, you may arrive as strangers, but you leave with a sense of camaraderie and connection, eager to return. It’s more than just a hunting trip—it's a tradition I’ve cherished for two decades and look forward to continuing for many years to come..
