. Hawkeyes Westfork BB.. AKA "Belle".  We purchased Belle as a mature female. While this dog could do it all I constantly found myself saying No Belle No Belle. This is where the name Nobelle comes from.  Belle was a great dog once we got her to come around.  She was a staunch pointing dog an excellent grouse and woodcock dog!

 Nobelles Double Trouble Dott..AKA Dotty

That  Once in a Lifetime dog, how often have we heard that expression.  After losing Nobelles Double Trouble Dott I started to think how much Dotty was truly that once in a lifetime dog, to me that is. But what made her that dog was not only what she accomplished in the field doing what she was bred to do but more importantly how she impacted our lives just being Dotty.  Dotty was born and raised in my home.  Her mothers Hawkeyes Westfork BB.  Some 20 years ago I purchased her mother from Clyde and Marilynn Vetter, two of the nicest people one would hope to meet.  A few years later we bred to “Shooter”. Like Cher you only need to know one name to know who this fine dog was.

 Nobelles Jenny

I think the only thing Jenny loved more than hunting was being with my two children. She was extremely cooperative, intelligent and biddable. Her easy going nature made her a pleasure to be with in the home . In the field Jenny was a pleasure to hunt behind. Jenny excelled in both the field and in the water.

Sadie words cannot express how difficult it was losing her. Sadie was a pleasure to be around. There was nothing that this dog did not excel at,,,,,It was a pleasure to have her in our lives....

For the past 20 years, I’ve had the pleasure of hunting at Grants, located in beautiful Rangeley, Maine. What keeps me coming back year after year isn’t just the world-class grouse and woodcock hunting, but the exceptional experience provided by the friendly and welcoming staff. From the moment you arrive, you're treated not as a client, but as part of the family. The guides at Grants have a true passion for upland bird hunting and a deep respect for the game and their dogs. Their expertise and dedication to the sport are unmatched, making every hunt memorable and rewarding. Whether you're an experienced hunter or new to the field, their knowledge and enthusiasm elevate the experience.
At Grants, you may arrive as strangers, but you leave with a sense of camaraderie and connection, eager to return. It’s more than just a hunting trip—it's a tradition I’ve cherished for two decades and look forward to continuing for many years to come..
