Careful pairings of sires and dams are crucial to our breeding program. All matrons are selected with the intent that they pass on their characteristics to their puppies. They are chosen with conformation, style, nose, birdiness, biddability and personality in mind. All our brood matrons are completely finished gun dogs so that we may ensure they possess all the characteristics we would expect them to pass on to their puppies. The dam contributes 60%= to the characteristics of their pups.
Our stud dogs are chosen, not out of convenience, but rather to selectively match the goals we had in mind when breeding the litter. We study many generations of pedigrees and carefully calculate breeding coefficients to help to determine and pinpoint the traits we are after.
The breeding program at vom Nobelle Haus is a long-range breeding plan. Our standards were to be the ultimate objectives of the program. It is our desire to produce, over a period of years, a strain that will consistently fill these standards a strain that will produce true to type generation after generation. Our puppies mature early and are extremely cooperative. They have an inherent desire to find birds for you in the field, and at home, they are calm cooperative companions.
Our Breeding Objective is to blend the best to the best bloodlines to produce dogs that are easily handled yet possess tremendous natural abilities. It is always our goal to produce puppies that are calm, cooperative, coupled with tremendous desire and intelligence. Our standards are to breed only those dogs proven in the field under actual hunting conditions, as well as from generations of proven tested dogs and hunted dogs.
Our puppies are whelped in our home. They are well adjusted, well socialized. We start with a sound breeding program and breeding plan. Our pedigrees demonstrate generations of tried and true dogs ensuring truly versatile puppies.
We believe that it is the job of the breeder to put together a pairing that will produce pups that are; healthy, have natural ability, desire, prey drive, intelligence and conformation. It is the environment as to where the pup is placed that will bring out the greatness or not within an individual puppy.
